Xbox Cloud Gaming gets Clarity Boost Feature on Edge Browser

Xbox Cloud Gaming gets Clarity Boost Feature on Edge Browser

Microsoft has announced a new Clarity Boost feature exclusive to Xbox Cloud gaming. This new feature for xCloud improves the video quality of your game stream.

However, the Clarity Boost is available only on the Microsoft Edge browser. Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming has done a partnership with the Microsoft Edge team to improve the user’s experience with optimizations and provide the optimal look while playing the games.

In the Edge browser, you can only stream Netflix in 1080p, and now a similar feature is available for Edge and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

In a blog post, Microsoft has announced the Clarity Boost feature. It says Clarity Boost “uses a set of client-side scaling improvements to improve the visual quality of the video stream.”

The Clarity Boost makes improvements to images and all over other details. Currently, the feature is available for free via the Microsoft Edge Canary browser. It is a version that is used for testing new features, additions, and changes.

However, the Clarity Boost will be available to all Edge users by next year (2022). This means you don’t need to wait for a long time.

If you want to try it now, then you can use the feature by installing Microsoft Edge Canary. Follow the steps to try the Clarity Boost on the Edge browser.

1. First, Download the Microsoft Edge Canary on your system.

2. Confirm that you are in the edge canary; for that, navigate to edge://settings/help to make sure you are on version 96.0.1033.0 or later.

3. Now, enable Clarity Boost by visiting www.xbox.com/play, login, and start a game.

4. Open the More options menu.

5. Select the Enable Boost Clarity Option.

Xbox Cloud Gaming support was rolled out to a few compatible Xbox consoles in selected regions. However, to get access to Xbox Cloud Gaming, you will need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
